Emmanouil Taxiarchis Gazilas () and Nicholas Belesis

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the Greek retail sector's financial landscape from 2015 to 2021, examining seven distinct subsectors. Employing rigorous financial ratio analysis and correlating results with macroeconomic indicators, the research reveals nuanced patterns in profitability, capital utilization, and liquidity. The findings underscore the sector's adaptability to macroeconomic shifts, with notable variations among subsectors. As Greece navigates economic fluctuations, strategic planning for diverse retail segments becomes imperative for sustained success. The study contributes valuable insights for stakeholders seeking to navigate the complex interplay of macroeconomics and finance in the dynamic retail environment.
