Abstract: This work is the product of a study on the energy sector crisis and on the alternative solution offered by nuclear energy. The topic is mainly addressed to those readers interested in knowing some historical and current aspects, legislation and projection of the Colombian energy sector, as well as to those interested in knowing the alternative solution proposed to the national energy sector.The topic was chosen because of the great importance that the energy variable has in our days, to which it is intended to find an economically optimal and technically feasible solution.
