A Distributional Approach to Solving Linear Dynamic Economic Models: Some Examples

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
This paper deals with some applications of the theory of generalized functions or “distributions” to solve linear dynamic economic models when the system is subject to perturbations of change of policy. Is also illustrates how sudden changes in flows can be characterized through generalized functions. Finally, with the purpose of suggesting a simple pedagogical method to solve problems that assume the perfect foresight hypothesis, we review Lagrange’s variation method.
