MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the determinants of the location decision of Japanese investors, which has shaped the geographical distribution of Japanese investment in the UK over the last 25 years. One of the primary purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness and importance of measures to induce foreign investment into the UK assisted areas. The objective is made possible by the availability of data from the Invest in Britain Bureau at the Department of Trade and Industry. This source of data provides information on the exact location of Japanese manufacturing investment in the UK, which is the subject of analysis in this study.
