Le SIDA et les choix de stratégie sanitaire: l'exemple de la Côte d'Ivoire
HIV/AIDS and the choices of health strategy: the case of Cote d'Ivoire
Joseph Brunet-Jailly
MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
The paper describes the first steps of Cote d'Ivoire national strategy to fight against HIV/AIDS and the role played by international partners. It stresses the problems encountered in defining that strategy, and the inequities between patients that have been introduced by the political choice made by Cote d'Ivoire to be the first african country to treat the HIV/AIDS patientsadoption of this strategy. It links the new strategy to the long established tradition of highly inequal access to care among patients, according to social status and living standard.
