A Development Banker from Bengal

Abstract: Abstract This paper discusses the concept of development banking from the perspective of entrepreneurial history. The life and times of a development banker from Bengal in the early 20th century is brought to attention to show how the entrepreneurial spirit created a bank and sustained a significant development path of the bank through financial innovations during financial crisis. The ideas of the banker is discussed in light of question on theory of economic institutions and particularly, banking theory.
