MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
The aim of the paper is to present the up-to-date regulations on European freedom of movement for workers. The evolution of regulations on freedom of movement for persons during five decades were presented. The paper elaborates mainly on present regulations after two previous enragements in 2004 and 2007. At present the freedom is in force in 31 European countries: 27 Member States of the European Union, 3 other members of the European Economic Area as well as Switzerland. Rights of European workers as well as restrictions of freedom of movement for European workers were discussed. The freedom makes tremendous opportunities for European workers. Present regulations are believed to enable and enhance workers’ mobility within Europe, which can certainly result in strengthening economies of Member States.
