Immigration, crime and economic development: an economic analysis of the Italian situation

Abstract: The study of the relationship between immigration, organized crime and economic development is a subject of great interest particularly in countries affected by large migration flows. The aim of this paper is to analyze and define general guidelines for the relationship between immigration and economic development on one side and the other between immigration and crime. With the support of recent data, in addition, we will analyze the current situation in Italy, offering insights into the phenomenon of immigration in our country.
