Small-scale industries and rural development: implications for rural industrialisation in Pakistan

Abstract: This paper reviews in a historical perspective the major policies and programmes that impacted on the growth and development of rural industries in Pakistan with particular reference to the overall industrialization policy regime from the 1950s to the late 1970s as well as specific and targeted programmes for rural development.
