La teoría del consumidor: preferencias y utilidad
Consumer theory: preferences and utility
Eloy Ávalos
MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
The consumer’s theory is a particular case of the theory of choice. This paper will explore the fundamental propositions that explain the behavior of a consumer agent and then be expressed in terms of the function of utility. Thus, the concept of utility is divorced of any philosophical and ethical burden, being simply a mathematical function that satisfies certain properties, such that the values obtained with it are a index that represents very well the order of preference.
