Abstract: The present study wants to analysis the relations of causality and the effects of the imports of energy in economic growth of the USA. VAR methodology associated with Granger causality analyses are used to investigate the relations between energy imports, investment and employment. The results indicate serious negative impact of energy imports on private sector investment and in the level of employment.
