The Controversies of Economical Globalization

Andreea-Nicoleta Donici and Mădălina Calance

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: Beyond its economical rigors and mechanisms, globalization has a strong social dimension which considers the impact of economical interconnectivity on the life and work of individuals and the societies to which they belong. Thereby, economic globalization changes the facts on: nationalism, culture, national or individual identity. The new rules imposed by the supranational entities and the changes induced by the transnational firms of the XXI century, opened the road to certain disputes and controversies. The aim of this paper is to emphasize the main controversies raised by the economical globalization by bringing into discussion: the resurgence of nationalism, the power of the international corporations and some negative aspects like inequity and poverty.
