Abstract: Résumé : : Cet article explore les effets de l’introduction de la mesure des performances individuelles dans un sport collectif. L’apparition des statistiques dans le basketball français s’inscrit dans une logique de professionnalisation. Le découpage des séquences de jeu en actions individuelles peut se justifier dans le cadre de ce sport. Il conduit même à l’émergence de normes et à une rationalisation des pratiques. Cependant, le recours aux statistiques se heurte à des limites, que ce soit en matière de complexité de l’outil ou de comportements individualistes induits qui mettent à mal la solidarité à l’intérieur de l’équipe. Abstract : This paper explores the impact of introducing measuring in a team sport. The emergence of statistics is connected to the professionnalization of French basketball. Dividing sequences of game into individual actions may be helpful in an analytical perspective. It also leads to the development of norms. Yet, resorting to statistics raises many kinds of difficulties, both in terms of complexity of the tool or in terms of individualistic inclinations that may break the solidarity within the team.
