Information Technologies and Strategies in the Service Industry

Abstract:
Information technologies have a deep impact on companies and their strategy especially now in so called postindustrial era. A company in sophisticated sector as service sector is strongly influenced by information technologies and must adapt to new rules or at least to new tools to not to lose its competitive advantage. In this paper we discuss the business environment of service sector. How the information technologies are used in the companies and how they influence the business strategy. This study is based on research made on Slovak companies and on modern theoretical approaches in strategy management.
