London’s Creative Sector: 2004 Update

Alan Freeman

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: This is a pre-publication version of London’s Creative Sector: 2004 Update, which was published by the Greater London Authority (GLA) in 2002 and can be found, at the time of this report, at http://london.gov.uk/mayor/economic_unit/docs/creative_sector2004.pdf. It should be cited as Freeman, A. (2004). London’s Creative Sector: 2004 Update.. London: Greater London Authority. The report was the first of four updates to Creativity: London’s Core Business which produced the first measurements, and a time-series, for employment and GVA in London’s Creative Industries. Like that report, it applied the methodology of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) who, in their 1999 and 2000 Mapping documents, established one of the earliest systematic methodologies for defining and measuring the creative industries.
