Business Networks in China: Legacies and Practice
Emanuela Todeva
MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
This chapter delve both into the past and the present of business network relationships in China. We review some of the historical assumptions about the fundamental principles of collaborative business relationships in South-East Asia and particularly different types of Chinese business network relationships. We review the literature on Chinese business networks and challenge and contrast the main assumptions in this literature. We provide some evidence of business networking under the ‘open-door’ policy framework that reveal the deep penetration of collaborative relationships in the context of profound commercialisation of business links.
