Abstract: Using the input output tables constructed for Brazil (1959, 1970, 1975, 1980) and the 1985 Brazilian industrial census, this paper has 2 basic goals: 1) to make a study of how the Brazilian economy changed in the period 1960-1985; 2) to make suggestions of how the Brazilian economy could return to its growth with equity.
