MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
This paper examines the structural changes in Brazil’s economy which can be observed through various censuses and input-output tables in the period 1960 to 1980. The paper shows how the country’s economy became more vertically integrated in those years, even though it has become more outward-oriented since the early days of import-substitution. It also considers the relations between the distribution of income and economic structure, both at present and in a possible future situation of redistribution.
