Effects of the crisis on the financial sector: Trends and policy issues

Verónica Escudero

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: The crisis is hitting the financial sector disproportionately and on a permanent basis, at least in some countries. This paper looks at the effects of the crisis on employment and earnings in the financial sector. It also considers how policies can help support adjustment in the sector, while also paving the way for a financial system that truly serves the needs of the real economy.
