Can Poverty be Educated Out?

Abstract: The impact of education on earnings and thus on poverty works largely through labour market. Along with some other socio economic factors, education does play a crucial role to alleviate poverty. Better educated people has greater probability of being employed, are economically more productive and therefore capable to earn more income. The present paper tries to make an attempt to show how the universalization of education can be used as a tool to eradicate poverty in near future. In other words, the paper empirically explains how the problem of poverty can be waived off through spreading education among the present generation learners so as to create human capital for future to enhance economic growth and alleviate poverty. The paper brings into light the significance of education in addressing the problem of poverty by way of development of human capital.
