Eficiencia gerencial: propuesta metodológica para su medición y evaluación en el sector eléctrico de Venezuela

Managerial efficiency: an empirical approach to measure and evaluate it in the electrical sector of Venezuela

Rafael Alexis Acevedo Rueda

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: This study aimed mainly on designing a methodology for the measurement and evaluation of management efficiency in the electricity sector in Venezuela. We conducted a literature review on the existing techniques, as management indicators, stochastic frontiers and data envelopment analysis (DEA), the last two most used in doctoral research due its complexity and methodological depth. The proposed methodology is based on the author's definition of the managerial efficiency of unobservable characteristic and its impact on a number of indicators, for that reason has a structural equation model. Finally, we conclude that this work will open a new topic of discussion for management research and will provide an opportunity to initiate new research and empirical validation, comparison with other methodologies and implementation in other sectors of the economy when interest and / or need for measurement of managerial efficiency.
