Abstract:
1999 - European Central Bank (ECB) started enforcing the single monetary policy for the euro area. The Treaty of Maastricht constituted the European Union and monetary system of the European Union - Eurosystem with: “The primary objective of the ECB’s monetary policy is to maintain price stability. The ECB aims at inflation rates of below, but close to, 2% over the medium term.”
