Social Policy and Public Choice
Dimitar Kanev
MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
The paper analyzes how and to what extent the ideas to maximize public welfare become public choice. It examines the effects of the selfish pursuit of self-interest and altruistic concern for others. The conclusion is that we need government social policy to respond to insufficient in terms of effectiveness private charity and political pressure for redistribution to poor and middle-income groups.
