Fernanda Sperotto

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: The Brazilian pulp industry has been highlighting globally, especially in the last three decades. In 2012, the country held the first position in volume produced and exported. The know-how in the development of short fiber pulp from eucalyptus, the availability of land for the formation of monoculture tree plantations, the favorable environmental conditions of the region and low costs of labor are identified as important determinants of this expansion. With the completion of major new projects in the sector, the Brazilian production capacity will rise significantly. In order to better analyze this expansion the article lists some important and enlightening aspects of the evolution of the Geography of Cellulose.
