Puzzle contribution of traditional alcoholic drinks to the wellbeing of rural populations

Abstract: Traditional or local alcoholic drinks Played an important role in the Africain society but the development of their commercialisation has let to an increase in their acumulation for several days before consumption. The consequence is an exponential increase in health problems and social disorder following the consumption of these local alcoholics. This study scrutinizes this puzzle between these catalysers of live in Cameroon communities and their growing negative impact on health and others. From a sample of 119 households, using cost-benefit analysis coupled to multi-dimensional factor analysis, we show that populations involve themselves in the commercialisation these local alcoholic drinks because of poverty and unemployment.
