The Role of Corporate Governance and Its Impact on Risk and Firm Performance of Consumer Industry: Apollo Food Holdings Berhad

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the overall performance of Apollo Food Holdings Berhad with specific risk and macroeconomic factor on profitability performance. The data and information get from annual report of Apollo Food Holdings Berhad starting from 2011-2015. The measurement of liquidity ratio and operating ratio used to see the overall performance of Apollo Food Holdings Berhad in 5 years. Besides that, to measure is the asset size, the variable has negative and no significant relationship with liquidity risk. To see relationship of risks factors to the profitability, this paper is utilizing GDP, operational ratio and liquidity ratio. Data was analysed by utilizing regression and bivariate correlation. The regression and bivariate correlation shows only one factors of probability is significant to operating ratio which is ROA with the highest impact to the profitability. However, the liquidity and GDP is not significant to profitability with low impact to the profitability.
