The Economic Value of Fruits Commodity in West Java A Case Study at West Java

Abstract:
Abstract This research purpose was to study what the kind of fruits commodity that become as economic basic in West Java based on the harvest width and what fruits commodity product and how the correlation between basic commodity and non-basic commodity on fruit crop in research area based on the production.This research used case study method and 4 respondents from governmental institution in basic commodity development. Analyze result indicated that mangosteen, melinjo and avocado commodity at West Java was economic basic based on the harvest and production width with the Location Quotient (LQ) level for mangosteen was 3.18 to 10.76; melinjo and avocado between 1.32 to 5.07 and avocado between 1.10 to 3.94. Those three commodity was broad into several location, so that in is not specializate certain commodity.The existence of economic basic commodity can support other commodity development as non-basic Basic Sevice Ratio (BSR) was 1.472 to 0.63 and the Regional Product Multiplier (RPM) was 1.020 to 1.679.
