African refugees and migrants: 'rush on the prosperity-fortress Europe'?

Abstract:
[African refugees and migrants: 'the rush on the prosperity-fortress Europe'?] Africans flee from war and threatening starvation, because of political persecution, or "only" to improve their earning- and life prospects. Often more than one reason determines the decision of people to leave their home. The boundaries between flight for political persecution or ‘just’ emigration are fluid. In view of the extent of the new migration, the misery of the refugees also has a central political dimension. Refugees and migrants become the scapegoats of politicians, the pawns in the chess of strategic groups (at home and overseas) for influence, power and money.
