Dismantling export barriers: economic and social impacts
Julio Nogues ()
MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
This report quantifies the impacts of eliminating the very high agricultural export barriers that prevailed in Argentina between 2003 and 2015 on several variables including treasury revenues, fiscal federalism, farm gate prices, consumer foodstuffs prices and sector employment. Also by estimating rates of unproductive protectionist rents, the discussion sheds light on the sectors and interests that loose from a liberalization program.
