Varinder Jain ()
MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
Even after 70 years of independence, a significant proportion of households in India are not having access to electricity. To correct this situation, the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has announced recently a new scheme, Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana, also called ‘Saubhagya’ scheme with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 16,320 crore. This brief note attempts to review this scheme through SWOT analysis along with providing some background to the State Effort in powering India at the household level.
