Boer Goat Small Farm Feasibility

Abstract: A feasibility that looks into small boar goat farms in Egypt in a study methodology that borrows the work of Al Sheikh & El Shaer on biological coefficients using linear programming to establish the litter rate propensity increases, and the goat growth and aging researches of Van Niekerk & Casey 1988. The work synthesises the market segments identified in the study by UNDP 2011, and suggested feeding program of Solaiman 2006. Small goat farms are good alternate income sources in rural regions but require better farm systems and increased capacity to take up forecast market opportunities. A major concern is that goat contributions to food stability do not compensate for environmental degradation, if any. Crucially, small Boer goat farm efforts require the support of interdisciplinary systems to capture the potential market and raise productivity. Furthermore, goat farming is a desirable and profitable undertaking with minimal capital and operating expense required. Why anyone should bother feeding a fancy meal when the goat is born capable of digesting almost anything. Going against the nature of things requires a deeper sense of reality.
