Tecnologia y dinamica industrial en los paises semi-industrializados

Technology and industrial dynamics in semi-industrialized countries

Gustavo Burachik

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: This article reviews conceptual frameworks that relate different intersectoral dynamics (entry and survival modes) with the nature of innovative process. The edge of arguments (that could be considered as pieces of evolutionary theory) is based on the analysis of factors determining advantages for new entrants or alternatively established firms in introducing technological advances. This option seems satisfactory in order to make progress in comparative analysis of dynamic attributes of different productive structures in terms of economic and institutional development. One of the aims of the paper is to discuss about the nature of industrial dynamics in manufacturing sector in semi-industrialized countries (SICs). Critical aspects in the relationship between innovation and industrial dynamics for industrialized countries (technological opportunity, appropiability and knowledge accumulation) are reviewed conected with technological change literature for SICs, specially Latinamerica.
