MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
Poverty reduction is the focus of the Government. On the other hand, President Joko Widodo hopes that Indonesia will become a developed country that is indicated by high per capita income. To accept this challenge, building an inclusive development program that includes all components of the nation while maintaining economic stability is one thing. In realizing inclusive economic growth, the state must be present and invite people who are still below the poverty line to participate in economic activities. The Government understands the importance of inclusive finance as one of the efforts taken in the context of poverty alleviation. Social assistance as an element of public financial facilities has begun to be distributed by using banking financial services through Digital Financial Services. The use of banking as a financial service provider is a concrete step towards financial inclusion activities in Indonesia. There are at least several things that must be considered, namely the availability of bank agents, supporting infrastructure, and excellent customer service. In the future, to increase financial inclusion through social assistance, it should be expanded further, not limited to social assistance programs for PSKS and PKH. Excellent government regulation support and education about Digital Financial Services are also needed. With these steps, the financial inclusion level in Indonesia should be better in the future.
