Abstract:
Global firms are the main actors of this phenomenon. Since the 19th century, global enterprises have developed their activities worldwide and they now control the world economy. This phenomenon has been studied by many economists since the beginning of 20th century. Some of them consider that the free market (competition) has disappeared and that the management of the world economy is no more based now on the free market but on private economic planning. Our objective is to study the thinking of five economists on this subject (Marx, Schumpeter, Galbraith, Castells, Krugman) and to formulate some hypotheses on the future of the global economy.
