Abstract: Le travail salarié a été le moteur de l’industrialisation européenne et vice versa. A partir des années 1950, la croissance économique s’accélère, l’Europe est à reconstruire, les entreprises ont besoin de main-d’oeuvre. Le ralentissement de la croissance économique à partir des années 1970 remet en question ce schéma. Le statut de salarié devient précaire, le droit du travail est remis en cause, tandis l’emploi indépendant se stabilise, alors que nombre d’économistes avaient prévu sa disparition. Mais, quelle sera la nouvelle voie de la croissance économique ? The salaried labour was the basis of Europe industrialisation and vice versa. During the 1950-1960’s, the rate of the economic growth was very high (reconstruction of Europe). Enterprises employed a lot of employees. During the 1970’s, the rate of economic growth went down. The social situation of employees became precarious. Social laws were questioned. Self-employed work did not disappear, even if many economists anticipated its disappearance. But, what will be the new way of the economic growth?
