Abstract: This paper suggests that complexity theory provides an alternative paradigm to the Neoclassical framework widely adopted in economic studies. It states that the new paradigm calls for a different methodology than the one used by the mainstream: agent-based simulation allows for exploring rich and highly complex problems in an intuitive and systematic manner.
