Abstract: 2018년 5월 한국GM의 군산공장 폐쇄는 다국적기업의 경영활동에 대한 사 회적 관심을 고조시켰다. 다국적기업의 최대 관심사는 수익성이며, 이를 위해 세계 어느 지역에서라도 자회사 철수를 망설이지 않는다는 점이 깊이 각인되었다. 인구구조의 변화, 신흥국의 부상 등 대내외적인 변화에 따라 다국적기업이 진입과 철수를 반복하는 세계경제 공급망에 대한 구조조정은 향후 좀 더 빈번하게 발생할 가능성이 있다. 이런 배경하에서 다국적기업의 철수에 대응하는 정책방향을 수립하는 것은 시급한 일이다. In May 2018 the permanent shutdown of GM Korea’s Gunsan plant heightened social interest in the management of multinational corporations (MNCs). It is now well understood that the biggest concern of MNCs is profitability and they do not hesitate to withdraw their subsidiaries from anywhere in the world. Due to domestic and foreign changes such as demographic changes and the rise of emerging countries such as China and ASEAN, the global economy will see frequent restructuring of the global value chain through the entry and exit of MNCs in the future. Against this backdrop, it is necessary to establish policy directions in response to the withdrawal of MNCs.
