Abstract: 본 연구에서는 한·미·중 삼각관계에 대한 매트릭스 분석을 통해 각국이 서로에게 요구하는 것은 무엇이고 상호 간에 어떠한 갈등 요인을 안고 있는지 복합적으로 규명하고자 한다. 이러한 규명을 통해 미·중, 한·미, 한·중 관계가 새로운 균형점을 추구하는 과정에서 공존의 길을 모색하고 충돌과 파국을 피해 생산적 경쟁관계를 유지할 수 있는 방향성을 발견하고자 한다. 한국과 미국은 중국과의 관계에서 어떤 영역에서 경쟁하고 어떤 이슈에서 대립하며 어떤 분야에서 협력할 것인지를 분명히 하고, 이에 대한 전략적 사고를 서로 공유할 필요가 있다. 또한 한·미 관계의 지속과 발전에 중요한 함수로 작용하는 중국, 특히 시진핑 시대 중국에 대한 한·미 양국의 인식에서 교집합과 차집합을 도출함으로써 바람직한 한미동맹의 미래를 설계해야 한다. In the context of the prolonged and structured U.S.-China strategic competition, the three countries which we examine - the United States, China, and the Republic of Korea (ROK) - must find ways to maximize their respective national interests and value. Nevertheless, due to a lack of mutual understanding between the three countries, they are focusing on attacking each other's vulnerabilities rather than on long-term strategies for cooperation and competition, thus maximizing their costs. This study is motivated by the need to discuss an approach that conceptualizes the U.S.-China-ROK triangle as a multi-dimensional matrix to address these issues. (the rest omitted)
