Abstract: 2019년 홍콩에서 「범죄인 인도 법안(일명 송환법)｣을 둘러싸고 발생한 대규모 시위와 이에 대한 홍콩 및 중국 정부의 강경 대응은 국제사회에 적지 않은 영향을 끼쳤다. 한국의 경우 2017년 사드 배치 문제를 둘러싸고 발생한 외교적 마찰로 인해 한국인의 중국에 대한 인식이 크게 악화했는데, 2019년 홍콩 사태는 이러한 인식 악화를 한층 심화시켰다. 다른 나라 및 지역에서도 홍콩 사태가 해당 국가(지역)의 대중국 인식에 적지 않은 영향을 끼친 정황이 발견된다. The 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests over the Hong Kong extradition bill, Fugitive Offenders and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Legislation (Amendment) Bill 2019, and the hardline response of the Hong Kong and Chinese governments to the protests have had a significant impact on the international community. In the case of Korea, the diplomatic friction that occurred over the issue of THAAD deployment in 2017 greatly worsened Koreans’ perception of China, and the 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests deepened this perception. In other countries and regions, it has also had a significant impact on perceptions of China. (the rest omitted)
