Abstract:
The objective of this dissertation is to analyze the sectoral composition of the electric energy consumption used in the production of exported goods and services in each electricity distribution concession area in Brazil. To accomplish this goal, an interregional input-output matrix was elaborated, along with sectoral coefficients of electric energy use. The results indicate that the sector which consumes more energy associated with its exports is the manufacturing sector. There was also an indication that Brazilian exports consume electric energy throughout their value chain more intensively than the production associated with the domestic absorption in 37 out of the 58 electricity distribution concession areas
