Abstract: The system of indicators that monitor the sustainable development of a country must give a clear picture of the three dimensions, dimensions which refer to: society, economy, environment. These indicators should be obtained from harmonized data sources in terms of methodology with international standards, have been obtained from reliable data sources, to be clear, viable, easy to revisions to their update. In Romania too, the indicators system developed by the INS, incorporates a pyramid structure of economic indicators, social and environmental, used to assess dimensional sustainable development.
