Abstract:
The document presents a topic related with Psycho-social views related with leadership. First of all is presented a theoretical description of the concepts of leader and leadership with some historical view and with some predictions for the near future. Most of the concepts are related with the view of Dr. Steven Covey, but for sure influenced by the local environment. Some highlights related with organizational aspects are also obvious. This was also an intension into taking some distances from the political environment as far the tendencies for the upper level of the society is to optimize any domain more oriented through the business than to politics. The original part of the small study presented here it is an attempt to evaluate the leaders and leadership abilities to the managers in local organizations. In order to evaluate were used two ways: a closed questionnaire and in order to validate the conclusions was organized a focus group. The two ways were convergent and this shows clearly that the conclusions are correct. Sometime contrary to the initial expectations, which were very pessimistic, the main findings are: - The local leader is well educated, with a clear segregation between general leadership and organizational aspects of leading; - It was evaluated a certain fear for making decisions and related with it, an increased tendency for controlling the subordinates in details. - The confidential sources of information are also perceived in relation with the system of controlling the people imposed by the previous historical regime. - It was also observed an increased speed of reaction to an organizational stimulus. - The honesty in treating the organization is in good limits. - The education which the organizational staff of the companies appreciates and follows is very good and with good tendencies. As a final conclusion, the organizations looks as being in front line of the leadership phenomenon and the fact that the organizational leaders are on shadow is something which in short time will get reversed. Probably at that time we can start to speak about a real re-evolution of the whole Romanian society.
