Abstract:
This paper continues an approach that began several years ago, when, as a student in Computer Science I was faced with the necessity of coping with some discomforts in the face of some computer-related events and the way I reacted to them. The need to constantly improve the response that a computer gives the user at an emotional-intuitive level has recently found its echo in the domain named „Affective Computing‟. This interdisciplinary area was created by psychologist in collaboration with computer-interface experts, and tries to find theoretical and practical issues in interface design with the declared goal of minimizing the discomfort and frustration created by the way the computer responds. My interest for the above mentioned domain has led me to try to find another approach than the one directed from the computer to the user, and to try to find some answers regarding the contribution of our unconscious dynamic to the issues of displeasure and addictions that regarding the computer.
