Abstract:
The issue of efficiency of the public sector compared with the private sector is extremely important in terms of economic policy. Firstly, low wages reduce the attractiveness of the public sector, making it difficult for the government in the process of recruitment and retention of staff and, ultimately, lead to a decrease in staff development and negatively affects the efficiency of the public sector. Secondly, even if there is no difficulty in hiring employees, low wages encourage them to have more work, which also negatively affects the efficiency of their work. In addition, the down payment in the public sector can cause resentment, outrage, disappointment power that provokes a strike, promotes corruption and, in general, slow down the reform process. On the other hand, high wages in the public sector connected with the problem of the budget deficit. In any case, the question of the gap in wages between the private and public sectors is crucial and relevant.
