Abstract: The main focus of research are issues of improving the methodological and methodical approaches to statistical analysis of the development of services in the Russian Federation and formation of information base analysis and forecasting of its basic parameters. In this paper, considerable attention is paid to study and systematization of the existing recommendations in the analysis of the service sector and its components developed by international organizations, as well as long-term international experience in this field. The results of this aspect of the research are the basis for the recommendations and suggestions on the most effective and methodological developments in the Russian statistical practice.
