Abstract: The monograph examines the features of the concept of sustainable development of the region is determined by the level of sustainable development districts of Nizh-ny Novgorod region with the help of the methods of calculation of integral index of the severity and indicator of sustainable development districts of Nizhny Novgorod region, developed directions of increase of a level of sustainable development of the region. Special attention is paid to modern-ization and development of innovation complexes in the region
