Abstract: The article deals with the process of globalization and its impact on the functioning of economic systems. Explores the reasons the low competitiveness of the Russian Federation, at the same time stressed that the exclusive role in this matter belongs to the quality of the products. Formulated a list of strategic factors determining the competitiveness of the regional level. Discusses the position that under the circumstances, the creation of high-quality and competitive products is not possible without the advantages of developing in the sphere of innovation activity of economic entities.
