Abstract:
The relevance of the study is justified by the unprecedented sanctions against Russia introduced by the majority of developed countries after the aggravation of the Russian- Ukrainian confrontation in 2022. They affect all economic aspects of Russian society and all sectors of Russian economy. However, national companies have already accumulated certain skills in adapting to anti-Russian sanctions since sanctions measures against Russia began to actively increase since 2014. Anti-Russian sanctions are of a different nature and have different impacts on both national companies and the Russian economy as a whole. An assessment of the impact of sanctions on the activities of Russian companies will make it possible to develop recommendations for correction of anti-crisis measures proposed by the Government. Micro-level analysis of the effect of sanctions using econometric methods has not yet been carried out. In addition, analysis of changes in the foreign economic activities of sanctioned firms and comparison with global changes in demand for goods, similar to those exported by Russian firms, will make it possible to offer alternative opportunities for the export of national companies. In particular, we are talking about changing the export structure as well as the directions of foreign trade activities of Russian companies in connection with sanctions restrictions. Resolving these issues is of particular relevance in light of current study on the formation of a system of anti-crisis measures in Russia. The purpose of the study is to assess the impact of sanctions on Russian companies and their foreign economic activities.
