Abstract:
Integration of the information and multidisciplinary approaches in emergency situations can assist the crisis management board with accurate and actual information together with predictions regarding the evolution of the different phenomena. The objective regarding the integration of the information may be fulfilled in a steady sustainable way only if a knowledge management system is conceived. At present, all the components exist, an upper level vision regarding the practical requirements, the field distribution of the parties involved in the crisis management and the system architecture to be conceived is therefore necessary. The paper presents some of the basic ideas which can be used to create the concept of a knowledge management system for emergency situations.
