Normative and Actual Provision of Antenatal Health Care Services in Karnataka

Abstract: An attempt has been made in the present study, by using the RCH data in Karnataka, to know the level of utilisation of all the services that are considered essential for safe delivery. The utilisation of the entire essential antenatal health care services is found to be only 8.5 per cent while 10.7 per cent have not received any services. The percentage of women receiving all essential antenatal health care services is higher among those living in urban areas, Coastal and Malnad regions, and pucca houses
